Who we are

Seventeen years of practice, applied to your duties

EJ Safety Consultancy Services Ltd was established to provide organisations with a single competent adviser who understands both the statutory framework and the reality of the site it applies to.

The practice has overseen all phases of multimillion-pound construction, infrastructure, superfund and environmental projects for government and private-sector clients. Work has included acting as the principal contractor's representative for all health and safety matters across concurrent projects, developing and monitoring project-specific health and safety plans, risk assessments and method statements, and conducting the site inspections and audits that keep those documents honest.

Alongside that, the practice has maintained certified ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems across a UK estate, led responses to complex and sensitive high-risk requests, and worked with cross-functional teams to balance business need against the standard rather than simply refusing work.

How we are appointed

Most clients appoint us in one of three ways. A retained appointment makes us your named competent person, with an agreed pattern of site visits, monthly reporting and advice available throughout. A project appointment covers the duration of a defined scheme, from construction phase plan to close-out file. A single instruction covers one piece of work — an audit, an investigation, a RAMS package or an aerial survey.

In every case the fee is fixed and confirmed in writing before work begins, and you deal with one named consultant throughout.

What we will not do

We do not assume your statutory duties. Those remain with you. We do not issue documentation describing work we have not understood, and we do not sign off arrangements we have not seen. Where we disagree with a proposed method we will say so in writing, and where a client chooses a different course we will record that too. That record protects both parties.

Our approach

A structured, auditable engagement

Every appointment follows the same documented process, so that our work stands up to review by your client, your insurer and the enforcing authority.

STAGE 01

Scope & duty review

We establish the duties placed on you by statute, the additional obligations imposed by contract or by your client, and the gaps between the two as they stand today.

STAGE 02

Documentation & systems

Plans, risk assessments, method statements and registers are prepared, issued and version-controlled to reflect the work as it is actually carried out on site.

STAGE 03

On-site assurance

Inspections, inductions and toolbox talks are delivered at the workface, with evidence captured at the point of work rather than reconstructed after the event.

STAGE 04

Reporting & close-out

Monthly SHEQ reporting, tracked corrective actions and a complete handover file demonstrating a documented trend of performance improvement.
